About Name

I consulted with friends – they actively engaged in the process: the names came up most unexpected, sometimes very good, but something to me they still did not suit. It seemed a pathetic, or banal, or simply boring. "M17" was unexpected, it is hard to remember when it came.

If you know there was such a plane – scout "M – 17" in Soviet times. "Аvant-garde art gallery" is a pioneer, a scout in the contemporary art world. Also, I liked the symbolism, codified in this strict minimalist abbreviation: "M" – young (ukr – “Molod”, rus – “Molodezh”), 17 - time to maturity, when boys and girls leave school, facing a dilemma - who to be ... And someone in their 17 picks "Mystetstvo"  (ukr - art)- Again, "M 17" ".. Three terse sign, which combines, in fact, the basic meaning for which we organized the gallery.

In addition, the name of M17 has a "double bottom", but it is very personal, intimate, that I do not wish to impose on the public, but it, I hope, will accompany the success of our gallery.
